Neural Control of Lymphatic System
Yoon Jin-A

Abstract
The mechanisms regulating lymphatic system are not entirely understood. Generally, there are both extrinsic and intrinsic factors that influence lymph flow. With regard to intrinsic mechanisms, the potential regulation of lymph vessel contractility by the autonomic nervous system has not received much attention thus far. Nerves in close proximity to lymph vessel have been described in humans and large animals, and ex vivo studies have reported responses of the contraction pattern of isolated lymphatic vessels to several neurotransmitters. This review will refer to the known theory of neural control of lymphatic system related to the regulation of lymphatic contractility and circulation.
